♥ There's this boy who stole my heart... he calls me Memaw ♥

It's a bitter/sweet day...
Beckett and Memphis are moving into their new house!
It's close to us which makes my feet dance, and I am soooo excited for them, and all the new adventures ahead... but I won't say a tear drop doesn't fall every time I think about not seeing their cuteness every day when I come home for lunch, and after work and eating with them and praying with them before they go to sleep.
Meet Jeffrey.  He's Beckett's friend, has been there for him since birth,
and he is very loved!

So loved his head and foot went flat, from giving up his fuzz to comfort his friend in times of need.

Fuzz, it's a friend too!

As a last ditch effort to make sure he knew how much Memaw loves him... I negotiated a deal to fix up Jeffery for his new bedroom.
So before he knew what he was getting into, he agreed to help me!

After not too much effort at all, and lots of help from his little fingers to get some new fuzz back into those tiny holes; and then stitched up any stretched out holes... he was looking like his old self again (with a little dirt and grime he picked up along the way... hey baby steps).
"Memaw I so happy"

"Oh B, I'm so happy too!"

Oh my love, I could cry he didn't just steal my heart, he melts my heart!!!!

Dinner with the Cameron's...

Sunday Night we had dinner with the Cameron's.
Dick, Heidi and her Father
They came back to our Ward to speak about their mission in Hawaii.
They had returned about 3 months ago, and it was so good to hear from them and the experiences they had that brought them and others closer to our Savior Jesus Christ.

They had always wanted to serve a mission and Heidi got really sick without a diagnosis as their youngest son left for his mission in Italy.  I remember they took her to the Temple with him before he left and she was in a wheelchair.  She got worse at times not able to move from her chair, not even to get to the bathroom, before they finally diagnosed her with lyme disease.  She fought her way back from near death for years and was able to watch her son return from his mission, marry and eventually have a baby.  All the while Dick by her side!! She gained strength at first only able to lift a tin can of beans up an inch bending her wrist, to eventually walking.  Through many miracles they found a window she was finally healthy enough to sell their family home to serve this mission!!

They came home and are taking care of both of their ailing/aging parents now.  We talked about how that is a service mission all in itself (sweet, tender and very sacred service)!!! I think when this mission is complete, I think they are hoping to build a home near the new Meridian Idaho Temple! Which if I could predict the future, would be a perfect place to find them on a next mission.

Heidi's Sister Kathy, is married to Jim's Uncle Tom (Jack's brother).
So they are Uncle Dick and Aunt Heidi to us!
They are the sweetest example of LOVE and SERVICE we could ever have!
We adore them to pieces and I am so happy I remembered to finally get this picture with them.

I hope we have many many more dinners with them in the future.
And trip to see them on the farm in Ontario is way overdue...
I can't wait for our next visit!!!

Total Solar Eclipse 2017...

I remember the last eclipse when I lived in Washington... I would have been 14.
I remember being in school and we got to leave class and go outside to watch it.
I only remember how dark it got in the middle of the day.

This year during the eclipse...
There was sooo much hype around our area.
Totality was only about 30 min. from our house.
Predictions of people coming from all over!
The headlines read:

"Solar eclipse 2017: Expect gridlock traffic to choke roads, highways ..."

Yuk!!!
That was enough to make me want to stay INSIDE!!

There were more than 10 people schedule off of work today... out of 35!
That was super weird.

They company purchased and donated glasses to a couple different local schools.
So we all got some for ourselves and our families... my boss is super cool that way!

So I worked through the Eclipse...
Since we didn't travel the 30 miles to see the total eclipse, it was only 99.3% here.  Still super cool, and you could get the affect.

But we all went outside to check it out!

I wasn't disappointed... it was pretty darn cool!!

(this is when it first started... the only shot I got... it was an accidental reflection)
I didn't remember how much cooler the air got during the eclipse....
it was almost cool enough to go grab a jacket!!
Almost.

I think my very very very favorite part was that after it was over here in Idaho...
my brother texted me from South Carolina.
To share his experience!!

Here is a photo of the night lights coming on at his shop because it got so dark.

Totally made my day!!!
Totally!!

Happy Birthday Darleen...

Happy Birthday to my dear friend Darleen today!!

I took some visitors to wish her a Happy Birthday... and just knew Beckett would give her the best wishes because he is really into "happy birthday anything" right now, not limited to singing, cake, presents etc.

However, I think he was distracted by the tour of the back yard!
And the ROCKS...
He is his Papa's ROCK boy!!

He had so much fun wandering and touching all the rocks!!

And she picked him a cucumber right out of the garden!
I think she liked all the birthday wishes and love ♥
I know we sure did!!

Happy 88th Birthday Miss Darleen.

Get Eclipsed... Totally!!

I love the company I work for!!!
They are so employee minded.
When they say team, they mean it!!!

My first day on the job last year landed on massage day!
?SeRIoUsLY?
They have a massage therapist come in about once every few months.

And EVERY month we have a company luncheon, that they pay for, and the employees take turns organizing it.
This month my department will be in charge.  So we all get to be part of the planning and organizing, if that's your thing.
We had carne asada and a pinata in May, grilled ribs in June, Turkey dinner in November... it's awesome!!!
They often have rewards and drawings for gift cards too!!

We are taking a Friday morning in September and going on a zipline tour for a team building activity!!!

Next Thursday they bought tickets for us to the local Rodeo's Buckaroo breakfast.  It's close enough for us to walk down and have breakfast and come back to work!!

I LOVE MY JOB!!!!

Today we got an email that said the company bought these solar eclipse glasses to donate to the local schools.  And anyone who wants to help put the company "sponsered by" stickers on them... they will buy pizza for lunch today.
Win... win!!!

And there is a pair for each employee on the day of the Eclipse!!

I am so happy, I love this company and the people I get to work with everyday!!
Not just because of the perks and food... but the work is just in my niche and what I love to do; and something I am good at doing!!
It fits, and it has been a long time since something fit just right!!!

Master bath flooring

Its not a true before picture, rather a during...

But my master bath flooring looks sooooo good!!

I have to get the walls painted, and the cabinet, mirror and light updated.
But the flooring was a big start!!!
I think I might have to abandon my beloved eggplant purple... it's just too dark in this room now.
Well I will figure that out as I go... it's just a towel and floor mat to change.
Im still in LOVE with my Seattle Prints!
They might even be vintage by now, Ive had them so long.  Crazy!  But I know what I LOVE!!

Laundry Room Update

I think this is one of my favorite projects in our house so far...

The Laundry room flooring is finally done!!!

I talked Jim into letting me paint the wood cabinet white.  A hard sell for wood lovers, but it really updates this area!!!

We have to keep our appliances stacked because the new stuff doesn't fit in the room and still open the doors.  It hangs over the thresholds a few inches!!! what happened to standard sized anything??

I added the knobs to the doors, another thing Jim fought against, but they are sooooo much better and I won't be having to wipe off hand prints from the white cabinets... bonus!!

The shelves are going to get wrapped with a 1x2 and stained so they look a little chunkier.
And the door knob is inside the cabinet and needs to be changed out from gold to the bronze to match the deadbolt.  We will see how long that takes (giggle).

And the very best part is I found a home for the hand woven picnic basket that my Aunt Carolyn made for me.  I LOVE it, but it was soooo big and has these special baskets on each side for paper plates and utensils that made it even bigger!!  And it was lined and covered with a green and red checkered fabric that just did not go with my decor.  So I took it off and it can be used for the picnic later!!!

I am sooo happy with this space now, it is truly a happy place to go do laundry!!!

Scooby Snacks

Beckett Loves Loves Loves to feed the dogs!!!

The first Love is just being in the pantry or any small space really, but the pantry is pretty entertaining.
I would have thought he would be scared in the dark, but NO he could play in there for hours, without the light on, if anyone would just let him.

One day I decided it would be fun to help him learn to count the scoops into the dog bowls.  I don't know why I thought that after we did ONE... TWO and repeated for the second bowl ONE... TWO.... that he would actually stop scooping, dogs are fed, and that would be good enough?
Because it wasn't... duh!!!

So for a while I would just pour them out and let him do it again and again... until I had enough or my knees hurt from bending down on the floor and then I would shut the pantry door and distract to some other fun in another room.
That worked until he learned he could push
and the pantry door would open like magic!
So Papa fixed the pantry door, and so that worked... until we forget to close it!
And we don't realize he has been practicing his counting of scoops, until  we go to make our green smoothie in the morning and find this in the blender cavity!!!

What a good counting boy!!!
I wonder where else we will find scoops of Scooby Snacks?

Totally made me smile, and made my day!!!

Take me out to the ballgame

Jim sponsored his bff's son and bought tickets to take "the boys" to a baseball game.  Then a lady I work with had two tickets she was giving away... so we scored and got to go to a Boise Hawks game, all together!!

I will just be honest... the ride over was comical! (Well if you were in the front seat)  We can all fit in our pick up truck.  3 in the front and 3 in the back (of course the babies ride in the back).
No problem, right?

Well Jacob jumped in the back seat between the babies.
And he melted down the min. they were not happy.
I feel like "patience" fell out of his pocket somewhere and scattered all over like marbles, and he just hasn't quite found it all yet.

But his heart is in the right place and he LOVES his children and his wife,
and he is a GREAT Daddy to them!!
~ It is hard when they are unconsoleable, and Momma is who they want (and your trapped in the back seat and Momma is in the front)-I will admit, not easy ~

Memphis Grace ~ LOVES LOVES LOVES her Momma!
And she is the cutest EVER!!!   So it makes up for any car ride, in any circumstance, until you can get her to her Momma.

It was a scorcher and the ticket guy who helped us get seats together...
well he lied.
okay our seats were in the shade... after an hour into the game
(that we stayed at for about an hour... haha)

Truth:  Sitting in the Sun wipes ya out!!!

But we had the experience-
hot dog!
cheering crowds! (well, we cheered and a few other people... Jim said it reminded him of the movie Major League where the crowd was just not into it)
The organ music!
Foul balls! (much more freaky when you have two baby heads to protect, ahhhh)

It was the baseball experience ~ it was good.
And I think we all agreed, it will last us until
Beckett is like 11 and can catch fly balls.

A good time was had by all!

It's what Family does...

The kids sold their beautiful house.  And since it was such a roller coaster with inspections and buyers they waited to buy until theirs was final and the money was in hand!  So they put things in storage and brought the kids to our house to stay until they find and purchase a new house.

We could not be more thrilled to have them, they are the perfect guests to have!!!

Only a tiny bit exhausting in Morgans book!!!

But Papa and Memaw are LOVING it!!!!
The adventures are already adding up!!!

Swimming...

Home projects...

Is that the "men" doing dishes???? Whao!!!!

Sabrina and I made this nifty bassinet!

And who wouldn't want to share their favorite ice cream with this guy?

It's just a ball of fun at our house right now!!!
